The top of Hafjell
Hafjelltoppen is located in Øyer mountain, which includes mountain areas between Gudbrandsdalen and Østerdalen. Total area approx. 430,000 acres, of which approx. 200,000 acres of mountains. Øyer the mountain is known for its expanses, great hiking terrain and the good hunting and fishing opportunities.
In the Øyer mountain, there are still settlers who run traditional farms with milk production on cows and goats. Height above sea level varies from 700 meters in the southern part of Åstdalen to 1232 meters on Eldåhøgda, which is the highest point in Øyer municipality.
About Gaiastova
Gaiastova was built for the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer in 1994. During the Games, Gaiastova was a residence for press and media, a total of 2000 people from all over the world were accommodated in Hafjell's 225 cabins and 120 apartments. Gaiastova served as a service center where approx. 2000 people daily took their meals.
When you stay at Gaiastova you do not need to use the car. In winter, you can choose to wrap your skis outside the door, and slip into Hafjell's Olympic ski slopes or take advantage of 300 km of groomed cross-country trails in the Øyer mountains.

Tapas in Hafjell
Gaia Tapas can be found in a separate room at the fireplace room. Here you meet the maid and there is table service in an informal environment. Characterized by rustic and elegance, as a place on the mountain should be. Our intention is to create a restaurant at Hafjell where guests will be able to relax, enjoy the good meal, in cozy surroundings after a long day out in nature or a hectic day at work.
Après-ski in Hafjell
Welcome to one of Norway's best après-ski and most famous nightlife in Hafjell. At Gaiastova there is room for 400 party-minded people. We have DJ's that provide great atmosphere and some weekends there is also live music. Gaiastova serves spirits and therefore has a 20-year age limit. The opening hours for apres ski are Saturdays from 15.00 to 20.00 and 23.00 to 02.00 in the winter season. In addition, we are open several days in Christmas, winter holidays and Easter.
Gaiastova is apres ski no 1. at Hafjell and with us it is full speed and high atmosphere. At Hafjelltoppen you will meet cabin owners, ski tourists and locals who enjoy good music, food and drinks. At Gaiastova there is a tapas restaurant, fireplace lounge and Gaiabar where you are free to choose from exciting menus for both everyday and party. Hafjelltoppen Apartments Gaiastova
The apartments have four bedrooms with a total of 11 beds and contain two bathrooms, a spacious living room with a sofa set, a fully equipped kitchen with a dining table, a sauna, and a balcony. Here you can enjoy the panorama of Hafjell and Gudbrandsdalen. Ski in ski out.

Six apartments are built close to Gaiastova on Hafjelltoppen. The apartments are situated in a very attractive area 950 meters above sea level at Gaiastova on the Hafjelltoppen with good standard. Perfect location for alpine and cross-country skiing in Øyerfjellet. Only 100 m to Gaiastova with restaurant, cafe, après ski, convenience store, ski rental.
Each of these delicate apartments has 4 bedrooms with a total of 11 beds and contains 2 bathrooms, a spacious living room with sofa set, fully equipped kitchen with dining table, 1 sauna, and a balcony with panoramic views of Hafjell and Gudbrandsdalen. The apartments also have internet, TV, dishwasher and washing machine. There is parquet on all floors and hence allergy-friendly.
Kids Gaia
KIDS Gaia is a new family area located on Hafjelltoppen right by Gaiastova. This family area is free for everyone - all season. It has been carved forests and the ground has been expanded to twice, it is made for a slalom trail with figure ports, a separate skicross trail for children and a new toboggan run for those who do not have skis on their legs. There are also two barbecue stalls with hot electric grills that everyone can use for free. If you need to warm yourself a bit with a hot cocoa, Gaiastova is in the immediate vicinity and is open when Hafjell Alpine Center is open. Toilet and other facilities are located inside Gaiastova.
The whole family area of KIDS Gaia is free for everyone to use - all season. You do not need a keycard to take advantage of the lift, just go through the elevator gate. KIDS Gaia is the perfect place to try skiing for the first time, both small and large. This family area opens first in the season.
