Closed in 1983 - reopened in 2006. A short summary of something sorely missed. However, thanks to the efforts of local enthusiasts, with a passion for history, culture and quality beer, the wait is over and Lillehammer Bryggeri has been reborn.
The brewery operates on a smaller scale, but the beer is better - a lot better. Visit our pub and restaurant, and you will discover this for yourself. We are located in premises built in the 1850s, on a site where first a distillery was established and then a brewery in 1847. Originally, this was home to Hammer'n, a cotter's farm belonging to Hammer Farm from which the town derives its name. Lillehammer Bryggeri aims to provide its customers with an interesting environment reflecting the town's cultural and industrial history. An area we are particularly passionate about is the advancement and development of industry along the Mesna river. The river, which flows through the heart of the town, has long been the lifeblood of the local community. Drop in and expand your knowledge of Lillehammer and its history, and at the same time enjoy our locally produced food and beverages. The brewery is fully licensed, and has a 120-people capacity. In unique surroundings our guests are able to feel, touch and taste the town's history - from beer and food to stories about the first coppersmith and modern-day events such as the 17th Winter Olympics.
