There are a number of sights and attractions nearby; Centrally located and close to Lillehammer, Hafjell Hotell is the perfect starting point for various excursions. There are many sights and attractions in the area, and in our proposed program, we have chosen a few examples. You are of course free to choose other activities for senior trips to Hafjell.

The city's biggest attraction is the Sandvig Collection at Maihaugen, which ranks as the largest open-air museum in Europe and houses 185 buildings plus more than 40000 objects. Maihaugen presents a rural society through churches, homes, farm yards and tools from the Gudbrandsdalen valley which extends north from Lillehammer. Traditional farming methods and handicrafts are also on show. Guided tours are provided in several languages.

Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jumping Arena in Lillehammer Norway is an ultra modern facility. The ski jumping facility consists of a K120 and a K 90 ski jumping hill. Both of the two hills are fitted with porcelain track and a special plastic landing area for jumping during the summer.

Chair lift
A chair lift starting at the landing area of the ski jumping hill will take you up to the Ski Jumping Tower at the top of the largest hill. From the open-air-terrace in the Ski Jumping Tower, you can enjoy a spectacular panorama view of Lillehammer, Lake Mjøsa and the hill's amphi theatre. This is a popular stop for taking pictures.

The Norwegain Road Museum ofers a peek into the history of road building with plenty of things to look and try, as well as fascinating exhibits on road safety and future road technology! A look in the "rear view mirror" and you might discover something completely unexpected...

H. Blindheimsvik country store opens his summer. A country store in a faciniating 1950-1960 atmosphere. The entire family can experience history in an entertaining format.On the second story of the museum, take a guided tour of the private apartment belonging to the person who originally owned the store.

Open-air Museum. You can borrow pedal cars and drive on a challenging track. At the outdoor theme playground you can ride a horse-drawn coach, pet farm animals or trake a ride on a vintage bus. And don't forget to stop by the blacksmith - you might just find something interesting to buy!

The Rock Blasting Museum
The rock blasting museum is located inside a 240-metre-long tunnel just on the upper side of the Norwegian Road Museum. The museum offers a fascinating journey in a real-life mountain setting through Norwegian rock blasting history.
Norway is a long and mountainous country with particularly hard species of stone. Early on, the inhabitants had to develop effective methods of breaking up rock for a variety of different reasons.
