In Øyer mountain there are still 13 settlers who run traditional farmed farms with cow's and goat's milk production. Several of these cater for visitors and here you can enjoy the animals, hear about life at the farm.
Annually, 7000-8000 sheep and around 500 cattle graze on pasture.
