On Saturday 29 August 2026, HalvBirken cycling will be held. The start is at Pellestova in Øyer and the finish is at Håkons Hall in Lillehammer. The trail is 41 km and runs on a gravel road. From Pellestova the trail goes along Reina and Mellsjøen and on to Elgåsen before it enters the Birkebeinerritt route from Elgåsen via Sjusjøen, Sjøsætervegen and to the finish at Håkons Hall.
The HalvBirken bike is suitable for those who want to experience the Birkebeiner atmosphere in a slightly less demanding course than the Birkebeiner race itself. The participants cycle with a backpack of 3.5 kg throughout the race.
