Hafjell Alpine Centre in Norway

Ski holiday in Hafjell

Hafjell is one of the major Norwegian alpine ski resorts - with the Torch man as the landmark. The Gondola and a most varied network of trails provide thrills and challenges for the whole family. The freeskiers and freeriders have found their favorite spot in the renowned terrain park of Hafjell.

Hafjell Alpine Centre is located only 15 km north of Lillehammer town. The Gondola as well as lifts serve the long descents where the longest cuts 7 km down the mountain. The vertical drop is 835 meters and the advanced snow system provides superb conditions from the end of November to late April.

The overall drop on the mountain is 835 metres. So whether you are a beginner or an expert, a great skiing experience awaits you here in Hafjell. The Hafjell Alpine Centre was built for the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer, and there are slopes suitable for professional skiers, as well as families with children and pensioners.

Hafjell family areas

Hafjell’s 3 children areas, on the valley of the resort and to the top of the Gondola - Mosetertoppen and at Gaiastova on the top of the mountain, are great for children of all levels and beginners of all ages. The bottom area is the meeting point of the ski school and is the very best place for beginners to practice their skiing. But do not be afraid of taking the gondola to the top, because beginners are also welcome here in ”Frontyard for kids” – our most successful children’s area with small jumps and other park elements for children. The sheltered moving carpet will take you up again, without the hassles of the ski lift. When the children are getting more experienced, they can try the ski lift and steeper slope connected to Frontyard.

Hafjell terrain parks

Hafjell has terrain parks for different levels of skiers and snowboarders.

BURN Railgarden
A big rail park which is categorized easy to medium in difficulty with 10 different boxes, rails and wallride

Backyard

Main Park
As the name says this is our Main Park which has red and black lines and the difficulty level is advanced. Hafjell is a large and modern ski resort with free Wi-Fi hotspots at restaurants and several popular places on the mountain. Hafjell offers the best ski experience for families. Experience our winter Wonderland!

NEW 6-SEAT CHAIR LIFT IN HAFJELL

Vidsynexpressen - full comfort 6-seater
Alpinco continues to invest and on 9 December 2023 will open a brand new, 6-seater chair lift, as well as an extension of slopes and snow facilities, in the south of the facility. The lift has been named "Vidsynexpressen", both because it offers a view, but also because it is located right next to the mountain restaurant, Vidsyn. The project has a cost frame of NOK 150 million and is the largest investment since the gondola was built.

The lift is a so-called full comfort. This means that it has heat in the seat and wind bubbles, similar to what is on the Hafjell 360.

The Vidsynexpress replaces two of the oldest lifts in Hafjell, Kringlelåsheisen and Hafjellheis 3. With this, the capacity will increase considerably in the area with a new express lift of a total of 1,874 metres. What's more, it will open up the very heart of skiing in Hafjell, on the south side, for even more ski guests! Here you will find perhaps the best trails the entire destination has to offer. Welcome to the opening!
