Universal design Hafjell Hotel won the tourism award for Hedmark and Oppland. Hafjell Hotel won the accessibility award among the tourism companies in Hedmark and Oppland. According to the jury, Hafjell Hotel has shown great commitment to this, has implemented measures at the hotel and they have plans to continue with new measures.

Among other things, we have invested in a disabled toilet by the fireplace lounge, a hearing loop in the reception and the meeting rooms, and that most of our dishes are lactose or gluten-free. In the autumn of 2021, hotel rooms were built that are universally designed.

At Hafjell hotel, we think especially about our guests with wheelchairs. We have therefore made an entrance area with a slight slope down towards the front door - in addition to laying heating cables in the entrance area so that it will not get icy in winter. We have several extra large hotel rooms with large bathrooms, so it should be easy to move around.

The Ministry of the Environment is behind the award, but the county municipalities in Hedmark and Oppland carry out the award in collaboration with NHO and Norwegian Tourist Development.
