Norway will host the para World Championship winter with four sports in Lillehammer and Hafjell in 2022.

History will be made in 2022 as Lillehammer hosts the first joint World Para Snow Sports Championships in Para alpine skiing, Para Nordic skiing and Para snowboard from 12-23.January. Lillehammer will host the biathlon and cross-country events while alpine skiing and snowboard will take place in Hafjell – only 15 km away from Lillehammer.

A total of 750 participants, including athletes, guides and coaching staff, are expected to take part in the World Championships. The Local Organising Committee will aim to recruit 400 volunteers to support the events.

Norway’s Ski Federation in partnership with the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports, Norway’s Biathlon Association and Norway’s Snowboard Association will be the championships organisers.

Championship will be the first Winter World Cup for disabled athletes where four branches are gathered.

The athletes will compete in cross country skiing, skiing, alpine skiing and snowboarding. Compared to Paralympics, only the sledding and wheelchair cricket sports are lacking.

The organizer is the Norwegian Sports Association in collaboration with the ski federation, ski-skating and snowboard-related. Para-World Championship Winter will be arranged from 12 to 23.January in 2022.
