For the hotel, it is important that there should be minimal use of disposable items such as plastic glass. The hotel focuses on energy management, waste disposal, health and safety efforts on behalf of employees.

The hotel uses eco-labeled products in the cleaning and is actively working to introduce greater use of organic foods in their dishes. The hotel is helping to fund the free ski bus to the Hafjell ski resort to reduce car usage and thus make Hafjell more environmentally friendly.

We were re-certified for 3 new years in June 2023. The hotel has a great commitment to society and supports local sports and associations, in addition the management has several positions in the local environment.

People from many different nations work with us and the h2ersity is great. On the 2nd floor above the kitchen, we have created a large staff room with a dining table, sofas and a large TV. Here we eat lunch together as far as possible, and hot food is served from 11.30 - 14.00 and 18.00 - 20.00 every day. We are concerned that everyone should respect each other and know that everyone is equally valuable. When employed with us, you get a link to a digital personnel handbook that is continuously updated when they start work. We have gatherings, Christmas parties, general meetings and departmental meetings, as well as regular staff meetings.

Breakfast buffets and buffets have no single-use items, and guests are encouraged to serve themselves several times, so that we reduce food waste, both via information in the food market and via infoTV. Self-produced honey is served at the breakfast buffet, which our 30,000 colleagues on the roof produce. In addition, pigs are bought from a local farmer, where the hams are hung in the barn on the roof together with own-produced cured sausages. A herb garden on sedum grass has been planted around the barn. The kitchen at the hotel buys moose from moose hunting teams in Øyer, and makes its own moose chops, among other things.
