Follebu Church

About Follebu Church

Follebu Church is located in Follebu parish in Sør-Gudbrandsdal deanery. It is built in brick and was built in 1260. The church has a long plan and 140 seats. The church has protected status.

The church is not located in the center of Follebu, but between the farms up on the hillside, clearly visible from Follebu and the surrounding area. In principle, it has a rectangular shape, but a slight deviation makes it practically parallelogram-shaped. The sacristy and porch are as if hooked to the main part of the building.

The church is not huge, but the walls are very thick: 1.75 meters in the west wall and about 1.55 meters otherwise. This gives an internal floor area of 14 metres x 7.65 metres. The interior height along the wall is approx. 6.4 meters.
