WE CONTINUE WITH FAVORABLE CANCELLATION TERMS FOR WINTER 2023

"Corona consequence" conditions, for Hafjell Resort, Hafjell Exclusive, Lilleputthammer Family Park and Hafjell Hotel, collectively referred to as (HH):
All sub-sections for Section 4., except for Section 4.7, as well as for Sections 5.1 and 5.2 of HH's Booking Terms and Conditions ( https://www.hafjellresort.no/bestillingsvilkar-hafjell-hotell ) have been amended as of 15 August 2022 and up to and including 15 August 2023.

THE FOLLOWING POINTS ARE REPLACED/ADJUSTED REGARDING CANCELLATION

4.0 CANCELLATION (GENERAL)
The guest, the one who has made the booking, can cancel their booking by email to HH. HH only accepts cancellations made by the person who has made the booking. In the event of a cancellation, HH will always confirm the guest's cancellation by email to the person who made the booking, and the following conditions apply to Cancellations:

4.1. CANCELLATION  (NEW AND ADJUSTED)
For the period 15 August 2022 and for arrivals until 15 August 2023, the following applies:
In case of cancellation and/or modification of the booking, which is made 21 days or earlier before the arrival date, this can be done without justification and the customer will be refunded their payments to HH without deduction of any fees. Currency differences are not compensated/deducted in refunds. 

HH is an intermediary of other people's properties, therefore the majority of the income HH receives from the Client will be paid to the owners of the housing units.

NB: If the booking and cancellation of more than 1 accommodation unit, the conditions for cancellation of accommodation with 13 or more beds apply, see the conditions "For cancellation of accommodation with 13 or more beds" below.

For cancellations of units with 12 beds or less:
For accommodation units, with 12 or fewer beds, that are cancelled 21 days or more before arrival, this can be done without justification, and the booker will be refunded 100% of their payments to HH without deduction of any fees. Currency differences are not compensated/deducted in refunds.
For accommodation units with 12 or fewer beds, which are cancelled 20-15 days before arrival, HH retains 50% of the entire contract price/booking price, and the entire payment/cost for any additional services that have been ordered, provided that these are not possible to cancel, resell or otherwise do not result in a cost for HH. No fees are charged and currency differences are not compensated/deducted in refunds. 
For accommodation units with 12 or fewer beds, which are cancelled 14-0 days before arrival, HH retains 100% of the entire contract price/booking price and the entire payment/cost for any additional services that have been ordered, regardless of whether these can be cancelled, reversed, lead to a cost for HH or not.

For cancellations of accommodation units with 13 or more beds, or when the booking and cancellation applies to multiple accommodation units and for groups, the following applies:
For accommodation units, with 13 or more beds, that are cancelled 21 days or more before arrival, this can be done without justification, and the booker will be refunded 100% of their payments to HH without deduction of any fees. Currency differences are not compensated/deducted in refunds.
For accommodation units with 13 or more beds, which are cancelled 20-0 days before arrival, HH retains 100% of the entire contract price/booking price and the entire payment/cost for any additional services that have been ordered, regardless of whether these can be cancelled, reversed, lead to a cost to HH or not.

When HH receives cancellations where the booker has his refund limited to either 50% or 0% of his booking cost, HH will try to rent out the accommodation unit again to other guests/bookers. If HH succeeds in renting out the housing unit to others, HH will refund the sum that will be the difference between the new contract sum and what HH has received from the client with a deduction of the amount already paid and an administration fee of NOK 500. 

All refunds, also for bookings made online, are made via Norsk bank and to the Booker's bank account, due to documentation requirements. In order to be able to make such refunds, HH must receive the correct account number iban and swift as well as other relevant information.

"Transfer the order to someone else" With reference to clause 6 of the Booking Conditions:
The orderer has the right to put someone else in his place, and HH must accept this person unless there are special reasons. Such reasons can be, for example, age regulations, that the people are listed in the list of people HH, based on previous experiences with the same guest/guests, do not want as guests.

The booker/guest must notify HH of the exchange no later than five days before arrival. In case of changes to bookings, HH has the right to charge an administration fee of NOK 200. If the agreement is transferred to someone else, the transferee and the original orderer are jointly liable to HH for what remains to be paid for the order and for any additional costs resulting from the transfer and/or compensation in relation to a breach of these terms and conditions.

4.5 CANCELLED: CANCELLATION OF TICKETS, LIFT PASSES, ETC.
4.6 DISCONTINUED: CANCELLATION OF PACKAGES

4.7 SPECIAL FACILITIES
If you want the accommodation unit to have special facilities, location, pets allowed/no pets, distance to the elevator / activity or that guests have special requirements for the accommodation unit or location and this is not clearly stated in the description and confirmation, the guest MUST contact HH directly to ensure this before booking a housing unit. If the booking has been completed, this will not be a reason for cancellation, either with or without paid cancellation protection.
5.0. DELETED: CANCELLATION PROTECTION
BUT HH recommends all our clients to make sure that any cancellation costs are covered by an insurance the orderer has taken out with others. For the time being, for the winter of 2021, it will not be possible to purchase HH's Cancellation Protection, ref that point 5 has been changed. 
5.1. DELETED:CANCELLATION WHEN THE CUSTOMER HAS TAKEN OUT CANCELLATION PROTECTION
5.2. DELETED: APPLICANT DECLARATION / DOCUMENTATION

General points in relation to the above:
For those of our guests who 21 days before arrival are unsure whether there are/will be introduced travel restrictions to Norway, must therefore cancel before 21 days before arrival to ensure that the booking can be cancelled at no cost to the booker. 

Regardless of the reason including force majeure, war, pandemics, strikes or lockouts, that leads to the cancellation where the customer is charged / does not receive a full refund on their booking, no refund beyond what is mentioned above will be paid / credited.  

For guests residing outside Norway:
If the reason for the cancellation, between day 20 and the day of arrival, is justified by the fact that the border to Norway is closed or travel restrictions have been introduced from the booker's place of residence and into Norway, this will not lead to a refund of the booking made. 

For guests residing in Norway:
Where the reason for the cancellation, between day 20 and the day of arrival, is justified by the fact that national and statutory travel restrictions / "Cabin bans" have been introduced that make the trip or stay illegal, HH will consider this as a valid reason for cancellation and cancellation can be carried out up to and including the day of arrival and a full refund will be granted.

If the booker or one of the travel companions becomes infected with Covid-19, or other serious illness/incident, and/or that travel or quarantine restrictions are introduced for all or part of the travel companion, this will not be considered a valid reason  for cancellation -  BUT, on the other hand, such an event will normally be covered by a regular travel insurance.

For guests residing in Norway or outside Norway:
If the orderer has already arrived and the NORWEGIAN national authorities order that the orderer/guests must return to their home/home country, the following applies in relation to refunds:
The refund will be given based on the number of nights the accommodation is used and the number of nights left of the stay, but with the deduction of one night.

If Hafjell Alpine Center is ordered closed by the Norwegian authorities, the following applies:
(Only applies to the Alpine resort and not by restaurants or other activities in connection with the Alpine Centre being closed)
If this occurs before the Orderer's arrival and is determined to last until the booked arrival day, this will be a valid reason for cancellation and 100% of the booking will be refunded.
If this happens during the guest's stay, the calculation will be as follows:
The refund will be given based on the number of nights the accommodation is used and the number of nights left of the stay, but with the deduction of one night.

Otherwise, HH's other Booking Terms and Conditions will apply.
